“See the world through my eyes.  Watch your attitudes and emotions.  If you are feeling anything but love, compassion, or joy, you are not seeing the world through my eyes.  Stop.  Close your eyes and look again.  If you find this hard, then use your imagination.  How do you think I see the world?  If you can imagine this, then you have done this because you are Me.

Love, God”unionminilogo

This has become a new prayer for me.  I was noticing myself feeling irritated at a couple of people, and in frustration at myself asked God to help me see them differently.  I closed my eyes and saw that the judgements and fears surrounding the situation with these angels was not the truth.  I saw that I felt justified in being irritated and it came from my belief that I was hurt, that I could be hurt.  But as I looked through God’s eyes, I saw that I could and can never be hurt.  I made it up, and the judgement about my friends as well.  I saw the beauty behind the fear and felt the compassion of knowing that it was all just a mistaken belief.  My irritation dissolved. Fearlessness and joy enveloped me.

Now, as I write this, I know that this is hard to understand as we live in this world in flesh and bone.  We can be injured on this earth plane and I don’t want to make light of our earthly experience.  But what I am questioning is my acceptance of being “hurt”.  My beliefs about being diminished, limited – affected by others words, thoughts, beliefs and actions, and really asking myself where I allow others to control or reduce me.  Where I allow it.  Sometimes a flood or real violence shows up in our lives.  We are affected.  But, what we do with it, and what we believe about it is up to us.  And as I look through God’s eyes, I can be empowered and inspired in my response or reaction.  I can choose healing without resentment.  I can choose to focus on love and forgiveness and what I know I need to do without adding limitation.  And sometimes it is hard to see this way and takes some imagination.  But if I can see it, I begin to remember.
